The 10th September is Suicide prevention day

Here at Parkside we want to raise awareness of suicide and help those suffering and enable them to get help and guidance. Our GP’s want to be able to help you, but to do this we need you to take the first step by getting in contact. Doctors can refer you on to a service called ASTI (Assessment Short Term Intervention) who will then take you under their service for you to be seen by a specialist.

Your Doctor may still ask you to come in for a review and will advise you on treatments or prescribe medication if necessary.

Please also keep in mind if you don’t want to come and see or speak to a GP you don’t need to, there are other options, SAMARITANS are a brilliant service and they offer a safe place for you to talk at any time, about anything at all that’s worrying you. You don’t have to be suicidal to use this service.

Samaritans aim to help you explore your options so you can make decisions that are right for you!

You can call them for free at ANY TIME!
