Food, Nutrition, Weight and Lifestyle

Food, healthy eating, weight and obesity are always in the media somewhere. There can be very confusing information about what you should and should not eat and do to stay fit and healthy, especially if you have any allergies or eating disorders. Our nurses can offer you nutritional advice and monitor your weight if you would like extra support. Our doctors can refer you to specialist centres if this is something that is needed.  If you are over 16 you can monitor your weight and height and have your blood pressure checked in our waiting room, anytime we are open, with our self-guided machine. Please ask reception if you need help. The machine prints out the results and you can hand the printed ticket to our receptionist to add the information to your medical record.

Why Eat Well?

If you eat too many foods that are high in fat and sugar, and you’re not as active as you should be, you’re more likely to put on weight. Becoming overweight or obese increases your risk of getting type 2 diabetes, heart disease and some cancers.
