Appointment System – Right Care, First Time
The Practice provides various types of appointments, which has reduced the average waiting time for a consultation from 2 weeks to 2 working days.
The reception staff will navigate you to the most appropriate appointment, whether it is a consultation with a GP by telephone or face to face or an appointment with a specialist nurse, Health Care Assistant or phlebotomist. You will therefore be asked to give brief details of your problem and a contact number. This system means that you are helped more quickly and need fewer visits to the surgery. The reception staff are also bound by confidentiality so please do not be afraid to tell them what your problem is. If you prefer not inform the reception team about your problem why not “ask the Practice” on-line or book a telephone consultation online or reception will book you a telephone consultation with a doctor (which may not be the right appointment for your problem).
If you are given a face to face appointment with a doctor this will be a 10 minute consultation to discuss ONE problem.

It is clinically better for you to be seen at the surgery where we have better facilities, diagnostic aids and lighting to assess you.
Home visits are for housebound patients and for those too ill to attend the surgery. Home visits are not for those who do not have transport.
If you need a home visit please contact the surgery BEFORE 11am and give one of our Patient Navigators details to enable the doctor to judge whether a home visit is appropriate and the urgency of your needs. Home visits will be directed to your own GP where possible.
